About the JRVS Award (Mori Award)
This Award was established with the purpose of promoting academic developments in the field of retinal and vitreous diseases research, and is called the "Mori Award" to honor Shinnosuke Mori, who made pioneering achievements in retinal detachment treatments in Japan.The Selection Committee shall select a Winner from the group of candidates recommended by the JRVS Directors, Auditors and Honorary Members. The winner shall (be asked to) give a "Lecture" at the General Meeting.
JRVS Award Provisions
Article 1.
Japanese Retina and Vitreous Society (hereinafter, "JRVS") shall establish the JRVS Award for the purpose of promoting academic development in the field of retinal and vitreous disease research, and shall give the Award to a person who meets the following criteria.
Article 2.
The Award shall be called the "Mori Award" to honor Shinnosuke Mori, who made outstanding achievements in retinal detachment treatments in Japan.
Article 3.
The Award shall be given to a person who made significant contributions to the development of ophthalmology with respect to retinal and vitreous diseases.
- The award shall be given to one person every year.
- In addition to the Award, the winner shall also receive an "extra prize".
Article 4.
The Selection Committee shall elect a Winner from the group of candidates recommended by the JRVS Directors, Auditors and Honorary Members.
- A candidate must submit the forms described below to the President within application period announced in January of previous year.

(2) Achievement list
(3) Description of Major Achievements (designated form)
(4) Letter of Reference (designated form) - Directors, Auditors and Honorary Members may recommend one person each year respectively.
A candidate must be JRVS member. - A winner may not become a candidate again.
Article 5.
The JRVS Award Selection Committee (hereinafter, "the Committee") shall select a winner.
- The Committee consists of six (6) members selected by among Executive Board Members. A Committee Chairperson shall be determined by a Vote among the six (6) members.
- The Committee Chairperson shall convene and chair the Committee.
- A Committee Member's Term of Office is four (4) years. Half of the members will be elected every two years. Committee members shall not be reappointed for two (2) consecutive terms.
- Accordingly, Committee Members must report the proceedings and results of the selection process=the election to the President.
- Vacancy of the position of a Committee member shall be filled by the top losing candidate.
Article 6.
President shall decide a winner based on the report from the Committee, with approval of the Executive Board.
- Accordingly, The President shall notify the Winner and other Candidates of the results and publish the Winner's name in the JRVS journal.
Article 7.
With the approval of the Executive Board, the President can make revisions to these Provisions.
[Supplementary Provisions]
- These provisions take effect July 25, 1997.
- These provisions take effect November 25, 2010.
- Revised rules shall take effect on December 1, 2012.
[Transitional Measure]
- A Committee Member's Term of Office is four (4) years. An Election for half of the initial Committee members will be held every other year. Committee Members can not serve two (2) consecutive Terms.

TANO Young Investigator's Award Provisions
Article 1.
Japanese Retina and Vitreous Society (here by The Society) shall present TANO Young Investigator’s Award (here by YIA) with intention of encouraging the scientific promotion related with Retina and Vitreous Disease.
Article 2.
This Award is named after Professor Yasuo TANO who greatly contributed to the study of Retina and Vitreous Disease in Japan.
Article 3.
Qualified age group in applying for TANO YIA shall be under the age of 40.
Article 4.
TANO YIA shall be awarded with a supplementary prize.
Article 5.
Candidates for the TANO YIA will come from the general public and must provide a self-written recommendation or a recommendation from one of the following: Chief of Department (JRVS member), Chairman of the Society, or Honorary Member.
Article 6.
Past award winners are not be able to become a candidate again.
Article 7.
Candidates need to submit the following document to the President within application period announced in January of previous year.
(1) Resume (Summery for scientific research)
(2) Contents of achievement
(3) Outline of outstanding achievements (designated form)
(4) Letter of recommendations (designated form)
(5) 7 copies of "Most Important Paper" (up to 3 editions or less)
Article 8.
The Society Award Selection Committee Member(s) concurrently holds the right to select award winners.
Article 9.
The Society Award Selection Committee Members select two (2) TANO YIA Winners and report their names to the Chairman of Society.
Article 10.
The Chairman of Society shall make the final decision on the reported Winners after the consent of the Board of Directors is granted. The Chairman of Society shall promptly informs those Winners the result of the final selection and announces the names of award winners in the circular (bulletin).
Article 11.
The Regulations for award presentation shall be modified after consent of the Board of Directors.
Article 12.
This Award Regulation shall be effective on November 29, 2012.
