About the JRVS Award (Mori Award)
This award was established for the purpose of promoting academic developments in the field of retinal and vitreous diseases research, and is called the "Mori Award" to honor Shinnosuke Mori, who made pioneering achievements in retinal detachment treatments in Japan. A winner will be selected by the Selection Committee from among candidates recommended by JRVS Executive Board Members, Inspectors, and Honorary Members. A winner will give an award lecture at the General Meeting.
JRVS Award Provisions
Article 1.
Japanese Retina and Vitreous Society (hereinafter, "JRVS") shall establish the JRVS award for the purpose of promoting academic development in the field of retinal and vitreous disease research, and shall offer the award to a winner as stipulated here.
Article 2.
The award is called the "Mori Award" to honor Shinnosuke Mori, who made pioneering achievements in retinal detachment treatments in Japan.
Article 3.
The award shall be offered to a person who made significant contributions to the development of ophthalmology regarding retinal and vitreous diseases.
- The award shall be offered to one person every year.
- The winner shall be given an extra prize.
Article 4.
The winner shall be selected by the Selection Committee from among candidates recommended by JRVS Executive Board Members, Inspectors, and Honorary Members.
- A candidate must submit the forms described below to the Executive Board Chairperson within six (6) months of the General Meeting held in the year of the candidacy.

(2) Achievement list
(3) Description of Major Achievements (designated form)
(4) Letter of Reference (designated form) - Executive Board Members, Inspectors, and Honorary Members may recommend one person each year respectively.
- A winner may not become a candidate again.
Article 5.
The JRVS Award Selection Committee (hereinafter, "the Committee") shall be established to select a winner.
- The Committee consists of six (6) members selected by mutual vote from among Executive Board Members, and the Committee Chairperson shall be selected by mutual vote from among the six (6) members.
- The Committee Chairperson shall convene and chair the Committee.
- The term of office for Committee members is four (4) years for each term, with half of the members elected every two (2) years. Committee members may not be reappointed for two (2) consecutive terms.
- Committee members must immediately report the proceedings and result of selection to the Executive Board Chairperson.
- Vacancy of the position of a Committee member shall be filled by the top losing candidate.
Article 6.
The Executive Board Chairperson shall decide a winner based on the report from the Committee, with approval of the Executive Board.
- The Executive Board Chairperson shall immediately notify the winner and other candidates of the results and publish the name of the winner in the JRVS journal.
Article 7.
The Executive Board Chairperson shall make revisions to these provisions with the decision of the Executive Board.
[Supplementary Provisions]
- These provisions take effect November 25, 2010.
[Transitional Measure]
- The term of office for half of the initial Committee members shall be two (2) years, and they may not be reappointed for two (2) consecutive terms.
